Bordaquest Blizzard
Izzy is best described as being my shadow.
She literally follows me everywhere and looks to me for assurance all the time. She has put her paws to showing, agility and a little bit of sheep work, working a handful of handsome herdwicks - see below right. Click here for a video of her at Crufts 2015 on her way to getting 2nd out of 15 in undergraduate |
I chose Izzy the minute she was presented in the oxygen tent at the vets, following Cookie's c-section on January 29th 2013. Her mum is Arrodare Attraction of Bordaquest and her dad is Sianworth Magical Spell over Glenfound.
I had no idea at that time whether she was a girl or a boy, but for whatever reason, she captured me. This was such a scary time but it soon developed in to the most special experience, my first ever litter of dogs.
She has just started competing at agility, but as I am a new handler, we both have lots to learn.
She has had many placings at championship shows and gets complimented on her beautiful border collie movement.
She often gets complimented too on her wonderful temperament towards other dogs.
At the Scottish border collie club champ show November 2014, she won her class under breed specialist and this was her critique:-
"1 year 9 months old b/w bitch. Good body shape, with up & tipped ears. Out of coat on the day, but nothing to hide, was there for all to see, well put together, good angulation front & rear. Lovely shoulder onto level topline, sloping croup & well set tail. Tight feet. Moved with effortless drive around the ring, felt that this young lady could move all day. Very well done"
Izzy has a hip score of 5/0. She is hereditary clear of CEA, CL and TNS. She was BAER hearing tested fine. She has been DNA tested clear for IGS and MDR1.
She produced 7 beautiful puppies in October 2015 with Callum, Bekwey Muchacho. See the puppy page for more details.
She competes in agility and went from Grade 1 to 3 in 6 shows, which I am immensely proud of her for - especially for putting up with my many handler errors ;)
We have done about 4 shows in Grade 3 and we still have lots to learn. She always tried so hard and is just a pleasure to train.
