FOREVER LOYAL TO BORDAQUEST
Molly is the sole reason that we have the furry family that we have now.
When Terry and I got together and discussed getting another dog, he suggested a border collie, as he had grown up with them. I said "absolutely not", as the two collies that I knew, one had bitten me and the other was sooooo hyper!! Someone in our village, in March 2004, happened to mention that the farmer had a litter of puppies and I made the 'mistake' of going to see them........the rest is history!! |
Molly's parents were both working dogs. Her mum worked milk cows and her dad worked sheep.
Despite this, she was absolutely petrified of all livestock! This was fine with us as it meant that she would not chase our horses.
She instead learnt agility later on in life and made no bones about the fact she loved it. She only got to compete at any-size level, as I did not want her jumping full height at her age.
She very sadly went to the Rainbow Bridge very suddenly in December 2014. The vet thinks she had a tumour inside her heart. It truly broke my heart and hurts so much that she was taken way too early, at 10 years old. However, I owe absolutely everything to Molly, as she brought so much love and loyalty to us and taught us what a wonderful breed border collies are.
